    *** IMPORTANT MQA INFO *******************************************
Be sure to download ONLY Lossless PCM formats (AIF, WAV, ALAC, FLAC) to preserve the MQA encoding -- Do NOT use MP3, or AAC or other Lossy formats as they will lose the MQA encoding benefits.
    .
For new buyers, Bandcamp always defaults to MP3 format for download. Be sure to change this to one of Lossless formats (AIF, WAV, ALAC, FLAC) by selecting from the dropdown list presented when you download. Mahalo!
    ,.
Note: You may also need to rename the file to either include or end with ".mqa" (ignore quotes) to be recognized by MQA by your playback gear such as NAD or Bluesound.
    *************************************************************************
    .
Plays on any media player with improved sound quality. Hi-res is unfolded then decoded using an MQA DAC and/or compatible software media player.

    .
"The original intention and sounds are much more accurately represented [with MQA] and are therefore much, much more enjoyable to listen to. The convenience of MQA's smaller file size is an additional no-brainer." - DE
    .
    ** AMAZING TRUTH **
You do not need any special hardware (MQA DAC) or software (MQA Player) to reap the benefits of the MQA encoding. The temporal blurring (aka time smearing) has been greatly reduced especially the pre-ringing/echo from this PCM master. It sounds better than a CD equivalent no matter how you play it. An MQA DAC can further enhance the sound quality as well as unfold any hi-res frequencies above 20k.

Morning Light / Western Town - by David Elias Morning light, western town Morning light, western town Roadside crosses lay me down You can read it on the red brick When you are up against the wall Some said they saw you flying Some said they saw you fall No matter where you’re walking You’re underneath it all Is that a piece of paper that you’re holding Is that a prayerbook in your hand Written in some foreign language From some obscure promised land No matter what they’re saying You still don’t understand You can’t beat the big prediction You can’t estimate the odds You can’t treat a false addiction With some even falser Gods You wander cross the planet With your head up in the clouds

Silver Pen 03:45
Silver Pen – David Elias She caught a long train gone There wasn't nothing to it In the red red dawn She just had to do it Heard that lonesome song And she could sing right through it She caught a long train gone She found a change of heart In the changing light Whatever made her start Could not have been more right She took her namesake's part In the dead of night She found a change of heart She found a new home town And she moved right in And the freeway sound It didn't come again And in a drawer she found Another silver pen In her new home town

The Old King 05:04
The Old King – David Elias Hear them cheering for your dying day See them wipe your feet with dust and clay Never mind the near ones where they lay Memories of clear ones there they stay There they stay Hear them clear away your open grave Watch them lower you down into place Night will pass eternal into space While the sun burns coins laid on your face On your face Consciousness returns to summer’s eyes Windmills spin their patterns through the skies Heavy air returns to times gone by No one meets your gaze or even tries Even tries Crows in pairs are sentries to your doom Watchers of the seeds you plant to soon Blackening the sky they leave no room For the sun to shine down on your tomb On your tomb

Half An Hour Away Words and Music by David Elias I wish I had a field of corn Or half a rag to keep me warm A bag of bones to blow my horn Time to fade away I wish I had a bowl of wheat Or half an ear to keep the beat See me on a one way street Half an hour away Old time Old time old time Half an hour away I wish I had a room of gin And all the keys to lock me in Never see my face again Time to fade away I wish there was a world of green And half the time to be unseen Never what you really mean Half an hour away Old time Old time old time Half an hour away I’ll look for you in dreams come true When all you see is what you do Never mind the world you knew Half an hour away Old time Old time old time Half an hour away

Time To Sleep Corrina – © 1995 David Elias (words and music by David Elias) Coriander through the weeds Dust sunflowers through the breeze Raging water seeks to please It’s all for nothin now Catacombs and columbine Push the pedal realign Fathers of our tidy time Show all for nothin now Time to sleep Corrina Those Swiss Alps are his cradle now Years ago those boys were walkin With high hopes and dreams So profound Keep the pace tomorrow While quartz and crystals radiate Through the mountain meadows follow All those scenes we can No longer recreate Wings of strings and paper trails Dominate the early view All you know and all you need And all you’re supposed to do Come and walk with me awhile While away those daily cares Let the stream flow mile by mile Through the broken past And everywhere Time to sleep Corrina Those Swiss Alps are his cradle now Years ago those boys were walkin With high hopes and dreams So profound Keep the pace tomorrow While quartz and crystals radiate Through the mountain meadows follow All those scenes we can No longer recreate

Mend My Mind 04:01
Mend My Mind Words/Music by David Elias Mend my mind on a summer day Arguello said what he had to say No one wants it any other way So mend my mind on a summer day Mend my heart on the open shore Where winds will blow then they blow some more Colors fade away from rich to poor Mend my heart on the open shore Mend my heart on the open shore Clear my head on an autumn day The sun is strong and the winds are grey The party’s over ain’t no one would stay So clear my head on an autumn day Clear my head by on that autumn day There’s nothing wrong with a rainy day The sky may cry for yesterday Winds will sing to find another way There’s nothing wrong with a rainy day There’s nothing wrong with that rainy day Mend my mind on a summer day Arguello said what he had to say No one wants it any other way So mend my mind on a summer day Mend my mind on that summer day

Lost In The Green Words & Music, David Elias Lost in the green Follow the magic stones Winter comes tomorrow Solstice all alone Strangers never knew you Friends become the same Lost in the green Follow signatures in the sky Winter comes tomorrow Quietly Families in the fields Hollow in the wind And all those one way conversations Repeat yourself one time or two Freedom of speech has limitations Forget the words and you'll be through Lost in the green Follow the river stones Winter comes tomorrow Solstice all alone Strangers never knew you Friends become the same And all those one way conversations Repeat yourself one time or two Freedom of speech has limitations Forget the words and you'll be through

Miracles Take Time – David Elias For Paul Pena on and on now don't be late silver wings on silver plates autumn lingers can't escape miracles take time sing me now your hands must rest your body lingers 'gainst the fences of its own strength time has tested miracles take time tell me now remind me soon how silk roads wind under the moon carry a windless silver tune miracles take time lightly now and none to bear yet songs to sing and words to hear silent tears your heart has shared miracles take time

Crossing (Lonely Bells) - David Elias, April 14, 2003 i used to hear them lonely bells ringing on patrick street in the middle of a sunday morning like from the bottom of a wishin well and no one to reach down there and turn them down then i'd go walkin up blake and turn down evans st. around the corner with those vacant lots i learned that lonliness must be where friendship and the road meet i was younger then but i learned a lot you're pickin up that well-worn load you take it down a lonely road you need another place to go now you're pickin up that well-worn load you take it down a lonely road you need another place to go now i still think i hear some of them lonely bells ringing in the middle of my day dream then i push on off and think oh what the hell i might as well be back on patrick street

Help Yourself - David Elias Morning comes before the sun, I hear that song, I better help myself. I better help myself. Reflections smile behind the miles, I hear that song, I better help myself. I better help myself. Lord you know it comes and goes, I feel that song, I better help myself. I better help myself. Ain’t no one knows the lonely lows. When you hear that song you better help yourself. You better help yourself. Help yourself. You better help yourself. Lord you know it comes and goes, when I feel that song, I better help myself. I better help myself. Ain’t no one shows the lonely lows. When you hear that song you better help yourself. Help yourself. Help yourself.

about

These tracks present the high resolution capabilities of MQA as well as the corrections required in normal CD masters to remove pre- and post echo ringing effects. Results are a much more pleasing and natural sounding recording, reducing ear fatigue and the often edgy and compressed sound of original PCM masters.
.
You don't need any special equipment or software to hear these improvements over original CD quality.
.
David Elias has been self-producing natural sounding digital recordings since 1995. His early work in DSD beginning in 1999 was his important gateway to the art of listening. His songs have been delivered and listened to around the world.
.
This sampler gives the listener an introduction to the articulate and careful acoustic recordings of a prolific and widely recognized independent artist as well as the finest capabilities of MQA remastering, featuring songs mastered at all resolutions (44.1, 96, 352.8).
.
Higher resolutions above 24/48k are unfolded and decoded by the proper MQA DAC and/or software media player.
.
